Making your own essential oil roller bottle recipe is very simple to do and can save you time and money. Essential oils are very potent and should never be applied directly to the skin. It is always best to dilute them with a carrier oil.
When you make a roller bottle, mix the essential oil with a carrier oil to dilute it. A standard essential oil roller bottle comes in a 10mL bottle. For this size bottle, we use around 20 drops of essential oils and top the rest of the bottle off with a carrier oil. You can get our full dilution chart for all ages HERE.
The rollerball top makes it easy to apply. Simply roll the oil on the area of concern and massage it in. This is very convenient if using essential oils on children or for traveling.

BEST OILS FOR FACE

As far as carrier oils go, we personally use fractionated coconut oil on our face most often. It works well as a natural make-up remover and as a face moisturizer.
We often am asked about using essential oils and carrier oils on the face. Many people think it will clog pores and cause breakouts. We have found the exact opposite. Several essential oils can be used to reduce signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, and clear up acne.
Lavender, frankincense, tea tree, rose, yarrow pom, myrrh, and sandalwood are some of the best essential oils to use on the face, around the eyes, and neck. Be sure to avoid getting essential oils in your eyes when applying.
ESSENTIAL OIL RECIPES FOR ACNE

If you struggle with acne or you are just looking for a spot treatment, essential oils can be helpful for you. Breakouts are often caused by stress, hormones, foods we eat, or life events.
It can indicate a leaky gut, food intolerances, or inflammation. It may take a little time to pinpoint exactly the issue, but a good diet and the right amount of sleep may help. A lot of times, severe breakouts are a cause of something going on in the inside.
Applying essential oils can help to alleviate skin imperfections and, as a result, leave the skin clear.

It is very important to protect your face from the sun when outside and avoid getting sunburned the best you can. We use homemade sunscreen on our face and wear a hat when we know we will be in the sun for long periods of time.

BEST OILS FOR DRY SKIN

Often times our skin can get dry, especially on our face. We use our homemade face moisturizer or DIY body oil to help keep our skin smooth and hydrated.
Myrrh, frankincense, and lavender essential oil can be added to any lotion or in a roller bottle to help keep skin moisturized.
For really dry skin, add 5 drops each of myrrh, frankincense, and lavender to 1/8 cup coconut oil and massage into the skin.
